Street & Alley Competitions
Following on from last year’s success, there will be another series of local competitions. Residents will be invited to enter in the following categories, best street, best alley, children’s’ category and overall winner. Winning entrants will receive gardening vouchers, trophy and certificate.

RHS Regional Awards Ceremony
15th September at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool.

RHS National Awards Ceremony
RHS National Awards Ceremony was held on the 21st September in Perth, at Perth Concert Hall in Scotland

Block Improvement scheme
Work has begun on phase 2 of the shop refurbishments on Langworthy Road.
Improvement work to the fronts of the shops commenced in September 2006 and is expected be completed in the next six weeks.
October 2006
Celebration Event Hot Pot Supper
The community celebrated their In Bloom victory over a Hot Pot supper at the British Legion as a special thank-you to all the groups and individuals, who supported the In Bloom entry, were presented with a certificate on the evening.
November 2006
Winter plant up of the barrier baskets and residents’ hanging baskets were carried out across the area.

December 2006
Christmas Event
The In Bloom group had a stall at the Christmas event, selling winter plants and wreaths and also promoting the membership to the group.

February 2007
Alleygating
A number of new alleygating schemes have been completed between February and June 2007. These include Mere Avenue, Knutsford Street, Milford Street, Haven Street, Northbourne Street, Middlebourne Street, Cardigan Street, Rostherne Street, Wythburn Street, Orrel Street, and Lyndhurst Street.
March 2007
The Langworthy Hotel was marketed to private developers; as yet no proposals have been approved.
Group members have shared their experiences and skills with other In-Bloom groups, throughout the city. This has been carried out in a variety of ways such as giving presentations, one to one discussions and general support and guidance in a friendly and approachable manner.
April 2007
Granoseed Residents Association sign lease for the land which they will develop as their communal garden.
May 2007
Work begins on the New Church site (Emmanuel Church on Langworthy Road).

Kesborne Community Garden
Work has finally begun on the Kesborne Residents Association’s communal garden and the building work should be completed in the next few weeks.
Trip to Wild Flower Centre in Liverpool
The group organised a trip to the Wild Flower Centre in Liverpool to get some fresh ideas and inspirations to develop the land on Highfield Road into a communal wild flowers garden. Everybody had loads of fun and enjoyed the day out.

June 2007
Planting for lamp posts and barrier baskets.

July 2007
As last year, a series of skip hire days will be organised by the Seedley and Langworthy Trust. Hiring the skips will benefit the local community by enabling residents to safely remove their rubbish.
